Kathleen Robinson-Malone, Phd., Mid-bow

In 2001, Kathleen “Kat” Robinson moved to Tampa, Florida for graduate school and she started going to the Davis Island Yacht Club (DIYC) to sail, especially for the Thursday nights races.  Kat learned how to do foredeck and started racing more seriously soon after. She enjoys sailing because she likes testing herself and learning new things about it. Kat is not a full time sailor–she is a Literature Professor and Scholarship and Fellowship Advisor at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Fl. While sailing may not be her profession, as far as sailing goes, she is most notable for being the First Female Fleet Captain and the First Female Commodore of Davis Island Yacht Club.
