While Dave is a marine and industrial mechanic by trade, he has been sailing for the past twenty four years out of St. Petersburg, Florida. He began sailing on a Prindle 16 and recently sailed in the St Petersburg to Mexico race. As a St. Petersburg native, he was proud to compete in the 50th Anniversary race and finish 2nd in his Division and 4th overall in spinnaker. This was also the first ocean race with his father, so it was that much more special to him. His advice to new sailors is to act like a sponge and absorb!
